Ways, procedures and time for applying for studying in China
Ways
1. Government exchange: according to bilateral exchange agreement between governments.
2. Inter school communication: according to the inter school communication agreement.
3. Independent enrollment scholarship program of Chinese Universities: apply to the Chinese universities undertaking this program.
4. Group recommendation: recommended by foreign schools, educational institutions and friendly groups through relevant Chinese institutions or directly to Chinese universities.
5. Application at one's own expense: students apply through relevant institutions in China or directly to relevant universities in China.
procedures
1. Prepare application materials and fill in the application form for studying in China;
2. Provide a copy or scanned copy of personal passport;
3. Provide personal academic certificate and transcripts;
4. Provide HSK scores with at least CET-4 (TOEFL or IELTS scores are required if applying for English courses);
5. For those who apply for master's or doctor's degree, letters of recommendation from two persons with the title of associate professor or above (or equivalent title) are required;
6. Provide personal learning or research plan statement (required by some institutions or courses);
7. To prepare the physical examination record of foreigners;
8. In addition to the above materials, students who come to China at their own expense should also provide proof of funding guarantee. Applicants under the age of 18 are required to provide proof of guardianship in China.
The appeal materials must be in Chinese or English, or accompanied by a translation of such words. The relevant forms can be obtained from Chinese universities or Chinese embassies and consulates abroad.
Time
International students applying for bilateral intergovernmental exchange programs will apply from the beginning of January to the beginning of April each year. The applicant shall apply through the relevant government departments responsible for the selection of overseas students. For international students and self funded international students in inter University exchange program, the application time for admission in spring is from September 15 to December 15 of the previous year; the application time for autumn admission is generally from February 15 to May 15 of the same year.
